Here comes MultiCore
Ok so there is now a special “center column” section on my site for DotNetMultiCore and even a top-level category! so what is it? Well I’m not quite ready to post a lot of details since I’d like to have a downloadable version ready for public consumption but here is a little teaser:
I believe that simple code is strong code but also and more importantly I am lazy and don’t want to write a ton of code each time I decide to put up a site, especially these days when you want to try throw out a prototype site in just weeks or days. I don’t think anyone can argue that Microsoft are taking .NET in a direction which can only result in large, slow and over engineered applications while just piling the features into the framework.
There are some great none .NET technologies around like PHP and Ruby on Rails. Although these days I’m not sure Rails is going anywhere but we shall see. Oh and of course Turbo Gears :) Python is my favorite by the way - anyway …
You can think of DotNetMultiCore as going in the opposite direction to what Microsoft are doing. Which is typical for my personality type too :) It also borrows some of the best features from languages like PHP. It is not going to be a huge framework, remember - simple. Stay tuned for updates as I get time and some real working code soon enough.
I am also working on some real live projects powered by MultiCore (like Mafooku) so it is getting some real world exposure too.
